An engaged membership is the foundation of a strong union. NEA-Jurupa offers many ways to stay connected, informed, and active — from attending meetings to leading committees and taking action in your community.
When members are engaged, our union is stronger at the bargaining table, more effective in our schools, and more powerful in our community. Whether you have five minutes or five hours a month to give, there is a meaningful role for you in NEA-Jurupa.
Stay Informed
Union Communications
NEA-Jurupa sends regular email updates, action alerts, and newsletters to keep members informed about bargaining, district news, and union activities. Make sure your contact information is current with your site rep.
Representative Council Meetings
The Rep Council meets monthly and is the primary legislative body of NEA-Jurupa. All members are welcome to attend. Meeting dates and locations are posted on the calendar.
Site Rep Updates
Your site representative attends monthly Rep Council meetings and brings information back to your school site. Connect with your site rep to stay up to date on union news and issues affecting your school.
CTA & NEA Updates
As a member of NEA-Jurupa, you are also a member of CTA and NEA. Both organizations send regular communications about state and national education policy, member benefits, and action opportunities.
Take Action
Attend Board Meetings
JUSD Board of Education meetings are open to the public. Member attendance and public comment are powerful tools for advocacy. Check the district website for meeting schedules.
Participate in Bargaining Actions
During contract negotiations, collective actions — wearing union colors, signing petitions, attending rallies — demonstrate member solidarity and strengthen our position at the table.
Respond to Action Alerts
CTA and NEA issue action alerts when state or federal legislation affects educators. Responding to these alerts — contacting legislators, signing petitions — amplifies our collective voice.
Vote in Union Elections
Member participation in NEA-Jurupa elections ensures our leadership reflects the will of the membership. Elections are held annually for officer positions and site representative seats.

Site reps are the backbone of NEA-Jurupa. They serve as the primary link between the union and members at each school site, attending monthly Rep Council meetings and advocating for colleagues.
