New Changes are on the Horizon...

Effective January 1, 2007 - All credential renewals and re-issuances (Clears, Standards, Professional Clears and Generals) will need to be renewed online. Some of you have already taken advantage of this new system - However, now it is mandatory. This process is quick and easy and can be done at any time of the day. It is imperative that you complete this process well before your credential expires. Credentials are usually granted and mailed within 10 days. (Once your credential is granted you must still send the district a copy for your Personnel File.)

If you are the holder of a LIFE credential this doesn't apply to you....

I have attached the direct link to the Commission for credential renewal: https://teachercred.ctc.ca.gov/teachers/RenewableSearchProxy

More Good News!

SB1209 was signed into law on September 28, 2006. One of the items addressed in SB1209 was the 150 hours of Professional Growth requirement for holders of this type of credential. At the CCTC Conference in mid October, it was announced that effective January 1, 2007 the 150 hours of Professional Growth will be dropped for Professional Growth credential holders. This means that you do not have to provide information to CCTC on Professional Growth hours when you renew your clear credential. Unfortunately for holders of the Child Development Permits - this new law doesn't apply.

Keep in mind that Administration still encourages all teachers to continue participating in professional growth activities.
